Before I say anything: Ben & Jerry's Smores ice cream is the best damn ice cream ever.

This is one of those long commentaries that really bear no meaning to anyone else, but I enjoy looking back on sometimes. )

So I want to post about NaNo and stuff, and also a few more thoughtful comments on MGS4, and I keep looking for that theme for Old Snake but with the trumpets... Anyway. I'll get to that later.

And Who Has Time For Tears~?

There is nothing better than watching Silent Hill at midnight. Granted, I didn’t think it was very scary, but maybe that’s just because it was more like, “LOL IT’S PYRAMIDHEAD” and less “OMG HE’S GONNA RAPE ME TO DEATH.” Then again, things like that happened alot in this movie, where I was more giggly than scared... Let me go about this in a more organized manner.

'I'm burning!' says Alessa happily. I LOL'd a little bit. Actually alot. )

Edit: Actually, I remembered what I wanted to talk about. I find it interesting that Silent Hill takes on so many incarnations, and none of them seem more canon than the next. You have 1 and 3, with the religious crazies led by Dahlia and Alessa releasing God, and then 2, where SH is all Star Wars-like, where it's "only what you bring with you," or the movie where they burned Alessa as a witch and the Otherworld is her revenge (actually the movie has 3 Alessas, go figure.) Personally, I like the second one best, but that's just me.

Happy Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Unfortunately, I did not find the time to rewatch POTC: AWE today. Such shame. Also, the shame in NOT REMEMBERING OH WOE IS ME WHAT KIND OF PIRATES FAN AM I THAT I FORGET...? A very lousy Pirates Fan. D= But I'll watch it this weekend, if I can, and then maybe I'll have something to say.

However, though I have not seen it in an unholy amount of time, I could never forget how much I LOVE Davy Jones. Ok, maybe I did a little bit, but it's not fair. Really. I mean, aside from the slimy, and the tentacle-y, and the soul-stealing... Someone needs to give Davy Jones a big, fuzzy, warm-the-barnacles-right-off-you hug. They would no doubt need a stepstool (or a stepladder for Phoenix fans,) what with him being an enormous seven-foot squid monster, but a hug is still in order. Maybe it's because I see him as having a hopeless case of Snape-syndrome, but I won't get into all that. CALL ME CRAZY. But really, if Tia/Calypso had been a little more considerate, Davy would have been a (not really) nice pirate, who I can totally see as another badass like Barbossa (DUDE, HUMAN!DAVY HAS THE SAME BEARD.)

Speaking of which, Barbossa is awesome. =D More on this later.

In other news, I saw Mr. Muller walking into school today when I was coming in on the bus. Contrary to [my] popular belief, he does not drive the Batmobile. That, and (though things like this are quite infrequent in the non-honors class,) I happen to bring in something extra for my French class: just a National Geographic picture of the Rose Window in Notre Dame. My French teacher was so excited, I thought he was going to pee himself.
