POKEMANZ

I have done very little this vacation, aside from watching an ungodly number of Buffy/Angel episodes, and writing and ungodly number of (short-ish) chapters for the New!Snape!fic. I've already told this to Echo and Stella, but this is in no way taking over the Life's Work- instead, it's a simple, straightforward, short vacation from it. Also, it's very different. Instead of a ship with an OC, it's a father/daughter sort of thing, which is cute. (In addition to that, it's a bit AU, with young!Snape apparently being friends with a Hufflepuff, as well as not living at Spinner's End, and being only a bit nicer.)

Here is an excerpt completely unrelated to the plot, where Lucius had a random wild-ass party for the Death Eaters AHEM AHEM I MEAN a nice civilized party in celebration of Severus' birthday. Either way, Severus himself does not approve. )

In other news, Mum was badgering Andrew to get in the shower, and without any prompting from me said, "Your hair is greasy! Even Snape would look at your hair and say, 'Eew, take a shower!'" Needless to say, Iaughed hysterically at the thought.

MAH INNAR DEEMUNZ, LET ME SHOW U THEM

HOOOOOOUSE~

The title, of course, is referring to the essay that Beeks made us write. "Write about someone you know who had something really horrible happen to them, that changed their life and made them miserable. Don't write about anything happy. Make it as personal and as painful to write as you can. Make sure to angst as you write it."

I made something up.

I finished Portal this weekend, and it has most certainly been added to my Top 3 Games list, which now includes Portal, Phoenix Wright, and Legend of Zelda: TP, in no particular order. But honestly, I love GLaDOS more than I should. "That thing is probably a raw sewage containment unit. So just go ahead and rub your face all over it." Also, I'm going to start saying, "NO WAI." Aaaand... Oh. The Curiosity Cube is my absolute favorite, even more than the turrets. "Who are you? What is that? Ooh, what's in here? Hey, look at that thing! No, the other thing! Ooh, that thing has numbers on it! Hey, you're that lady from the test! HI! Where are you going? Eeew! What's wrong with your legs!? Do you smell something burning?"

And unfortunately, I actually quoted the snarky computer  in reference to my dad, saying, "Helloooooo~? THAT'S YOU. THAT'S HOW DUMB YOU SOUND." Looking back, that was nooooot the smartest thing to do. Then again, he also didn't take it seriously, "so that's funny too."

There are so many things about the latest Dollhouse episode, that I would hardly bother to write them all down here. Simply: Sierra/Victor FTW. November breaks my heart. Sierra's backstory is also really awful, though, and I mean that in the sense that it's well-written, just really, really horrible. Echo/Caroline is awesome, but still not my favorite, even though the scene with Topher was amazing (as[info]lyricalecho so enthusiastically points out.) Paul is sexy but insane. Unless that's just his dreams. THOSE ARE TOTALLY CRACK!DREAMS, HE'S NOT CRAZY. (And [lyrical]Echo, dear, I told you he had a thing for Caroline in particular.) But why don't I like that? It just seems wrong. Lastly, Topher, being afraid of the dark, and I honestly can't help but see him as just "the science guy," like maybe [lyrical]Echo when she grows up to be a supervillain.

Oh, hey, I was English today and I as was dumping my stuff on the back counter, I heard two generally non-dorky girls (though not quite the sporty/jock type) say something along the lines of, "Oh, yeah, I can't believe Angel came back and apologized!" And I figured since there is a guy in my grade named as such, I should ignore it. But then Molly was like, "Oh, man! Buffy was great in that scene!" After which I homed in and was all, "Uh... What are you talking about?" They muttered an ashamed, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and I was like, "OMG YOU GUYS
ARE MY NEW FAVORITE PEOPLE." It was pretty awesome, and since they're only a little ahead of me, we would have fangirled more, but then Beeks came in. Frickety frick on a buscuit.

Ok, so it turns out Eli!Snape has an art class at the same time, as me, but across the hall. Since my class gets out earlier, and I sometimes poke in to say hi to Ms. Colotti, I ended up seeing him in there. They're doing the horrible 'clay head' project, and Eli!Snape was holding his up to the light, and I've never seen a kid look at his art so thoughtfully (with the contemplative hand-to-his-chin gesture and everything.) This spawned many mental images of artistic!Snape, all of which made me giggle inside all the way down to lunch. It also made me think of that Bones clip I saw of Booth with his little clay horse? Was that what it was? I think so. XD *AWW*

I did my audition for All Together Now, and I sang Penny's Song. It went something like, "-and every day of rain brings water flowing to things growing in the gr-OW OW OH GOD MY VOICE CRACKED OW-nd~" It was sort of painful, but at least I can't get cut. XD

I have other things to discuss later, but I don't have time at the moment. (Stupid Essex County Project I hate you.)

(And BTW? So, there wasn't an April Fool's post. April Fools! =DDDDD)

GREEN BEANS, THEY ARE GREEN BEANS~

karma_on_a_segway
[info]lyricalecho and I watched seven episodes of Buffy in less than 24 hours. It went: three episodes, SNL, sleep, one episode, breakfast, a walk (haha!) and then three more episodes. God, the finale was so amazing. Just... Ahhhhhh~ I loved all those episodes to pieces, I wouldn't even know where to start.

What I did start, however, was singing the Buffy theme more like, "GREEN BEANS, THEY ARE GREEN BEANS, THEY ARE GOOD FOR YOU, BECAUSE THEY'RE GREEN BEANS~"

I believe there was a bit of my summer!fluff!fic that describes Young Snape: "Instead, he merely wiped his forehead on the short sleeve of his favorite t-shirt: a worn blue Beatles one that his mother had gotten him for Christmas." I was after school on Wednesday and I saw Eli, AKA: Young Snape, and what was he wearing but the same short-sleeved blue Beatles t-shirt. (With the Yellow Submarine logo, actually.) It was awesome. And, I mean, he had the falling-apart converse sneakers, and the oversized, clunky headphones, and... =DDD Also, I heard him talk for the first time, and his voice is alot lower than I thought it would be. Actually, I know seniors whose voices aren't even that low. Do you think Snape grew into the deep AR!Snape voice that early on? (Because the AR!voice is totally canon, guys.)

I had a China meeting yesterday, and Beekley jokes abounded. Unfortunately, Mum found it fit to stay after and ask something along the lines of what would happen if I got certain female afflictions during the trip. I let this go for a bit, I was good, I swear, and then they wouldn't stop. (I don't care if China has CVS, okay!?) For gorram sake's, my mother is discussing my period with the Beek-Beast! After this, I am going to chase it from my mind. It never happened.

Also? Ms. Li? Mum said she was so cute, she would love to just 'eat her up with a spoon.' At least she's not cutting out her heart with it. XD "Because it hurts more, you twit!"

[info]chevy_the_geek has this tendency to sneeze multiple times in a row. Like, five, six, seven times. (The record is eight.) What else could an attack like that be but a SNEEZE-URE!? AHAHAHAHAHAHA~ *sigh*

Holy crap. Yahoo blogging stole the [info]zarla cake! I'm appalled! http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/parenting/itty-bitty-bites-colorful-rainbow-cake-will-blow-your-kids-away-432155/

Aspeaking of Zarla, is it bad that when I'm in Bio, learning about the different flower parts, I want to get up and sing, "BUT IT'S ALL CALLED STIGMAAAAA~!"

I forgot my history book, so I'm going to have to do extra work to get this paragraph/essay thing done. I'm not complaining, though, because it's my own damn fault.

BUT HEY ONE LAST THING. My dad called and he's sending me a list of all the people doing cards for the ComicCon thing. (I am making a study guide, you see.) The dinner, in addition, is really starting to take shape. Point being, do you know who Scott is friends with, and who he invited? MARK HAMILL. MARK. FREAKING. HAMILL. I AM GOING TO COMMIT SEPPUKU, I'M SORRY. I CAN'T CONTAIN IT.

AGGRESSIVE SELF-ESTEEM

POKEMANZ

They didn't let us out of school today. Thank you, Mr./Ms. Superintendent, you are of no help to me.

I ate a cookie for breakfast. Bah. Actually, that led [info]lyricalecho to say that sometimes I'm like a grown woman, trapped inside a teeny-tiny teenage body. I'm still not sure if I should have laughed or punched her in the face. (NOOOO OF COURSE I DON'T WANT TO PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE)

I love how I went to the mall and picked out this really cute, bright green trenchcoat-y type thing, thinking, "Oh! It's warm; it must be spring! I'm going to need something lightweight and spring-y like this!" And now there's, like, a foot of snow on the ground.

Speaking of that shopping trip, I found the Snape!dress for almost a hundred dollars less than when I saw it in January. Unfortunately, there was only a size six and a size eight left, which on me, is like... Well, like not wearing it at all, I guess. I took a picture, though! Thing is, I can't quite get it from my phone to my computer, due to a sad lack of Thingy-Ma-Jiggies That I Don't Understand. I'll work on that, promise.

Speaking of Snape (to the roaring groan of Many...) I was poking around deviantart the other day and there was this one comic (by gilll, I believe) and I could not stop laughing at this one panel.

When it comes to alcohol, Snape is quite comfortable with elf-made wine. Firewhiskey... Not so much. )

Lastly, I'd like to point out that I think I'm turning into Echo's little sister. I was out to dinner at Legal Seafood (which I lurrrrve) and the waiter guy was so cute I couldn't stand it. Like, Simon with glasses, with the proper and the mildly peppy... Or maybe Layton, now that I think. Oh! Except like Oz! 'Cause I was on my way out and I walked by him, and he wasn't much taller than I was. I mean, Oz is about 5'4", right? Eeeeeee~ <3

OH I FORGOT. [info]stella_muse YOU ARE PLAYING PROFESSOR LAYTOOOOOOON~ YOU ARE SO AWESOOOOOOOME~ THANK YOOOOOU~

Argh. I have to write an abstract for history, and unless my LJ is concerned with the social and economic effects on twentieth century fishing schooners on Gloucester and the country as wel know it... Well, I g2g. XD
neil_hugs

I'm thinking this might be one of those 'hey why didn't you already know about this' things, but I was just so ridiculously excited, I'm just going to post it here:

In other news, NPH was adorable on Ellen. Mum kept  pointing out how she doesn't "quite get it. Because he's still just Doogie." But she still thinks he's very cute. Anyway, he was talking about getting tickets to Idol because he knows Kara. Also, he only wants so see the first few shows so he can watch the contestants and "bore into their soul." Also? "Also, I can break lightbulbs with my brain." He didn't say that, but he did. =DDDDDD (I hope [info]chevy_the_geek  watched it, because I called her this morning all, "NPH IS ON ELLEN IN FIFTEEN MINUTES GET UUUUUUUUUP!!!!"

I was getting something in the freezer this morning, and I dropped a brick of frozen chicken on my toe. OW. OH GOD MOMMY SOMEONE MATERNAL

I g2g shovel nao, I theenk.

EDIT: I was filling out the 'music' box, and my brother started watching Muffins. So I leaned over and watched it too, and then typed in "My Freeze Ray ~ Neil Patrick Muffin." Ugh, I need to get out. XDDDDDDD

Buffy Stuff, Whoooo!

  • Mar. 1st, 2009 at 7:32 PM
Halloween!Giles

I am not going to continue on to make a 'Buff Stuff' joke, because that's lame. LAME-O, GUYZ. )

On another note, I love how I'm sitting here tied up in electrical cords and the phone rings, and I have to get up to answer it because my brother is too busy juggling clementines.

And oh, hey, SCHOOL'S CLOSED TOMORROW, I guess that means I can watch NPH ON ELLEN AT NINE~ *squeeeeee!*

marth_is_unamused

Ok, here's something else I should do: I was in history class and Mr. Hanchett was talking about western immigration and stuff, and he mentioned that people went out there for better land. For some reason, this led him to say that the thing he wants most in the world (his Mirror of Erised) is just a tiny square of grass in his backyard. Because, you know, he apparently lives in Sommerville, which really is a "concrete jungle." So, for an Easter/April break present for him, I want to plant some grass seed in a little pot, and maybe stick a little mini birdhouse in it or something. That would be so cute!

Also over April break, I would like to dedicate that week to making a Snape-coat for ComicCon, but I don't know if that'll go through.

Argh, I need to watch Dollhouse. And Buffy.

I think I'm going to go to the movies this weekend; I'd really like to see Frost/Nixon. It's still out, isn't it? I'm pretty sure it is.

ELIZA DUSHKU WAS IN BOTTLE SHOCK!? NOW WHEN I WATCH IT WITH MUM (because I said I would) I KNOW I'M GOING TO FANGIGGLE. (Also, as I pointed out to the Gang, she's so awesome in that movie that she's the one snarking at Alan Rickman. =DDDDDD)

I saw Steven in the library today, and he suddenly broke out into song. "John Jacobs Jingleheimer Schmidt!" I don't remember how Mr. Muller reacted.

I did a very stupid thing at Exit 51. I sort of went with a couple of other people to ask Ms. Beekley what she thought of Mr. Quadros' beard (which still looks ridiculous.) It was a STUPID thing to do. Really, at least when Snape snarks, it's more mean and condescending. When Ms. Beekley snarks, it's like she's trying to make your soul melt into a little puddle of shame. *Ali leans over, "Argh, stop backpedaling! You're making it worse!"* God, I think she loves how upset she makes me.

You know what I find interesting? The Insider (or whatever it's called) was on, and it seems like every five seconds there's like, "HAY GUYZ! MAH SEKRIT WEDDINS, LET ME SHOW U DEM!" I suppose I find that most annoying because of that bit of my Life's Work. It's like, "Okay, they didn't do it in secret because they wanted you to analyze everything, post pictures everywhere, and say horrible things about them. What is this 'secret' of which you speak?" Anyway, that's sort of a personal rambling (though Snape wholly agrees and says: DDDDD:<)

I was watching tv with Mum and there was a commercial for NEIL PATRICK HARRIS ON ELLEN HOLY FRICKING FRICK ON A BISCUIT- I was squeeing so hard, and I can only imagine that, had she seen it, [info]chevy_the_geek would have had a coronary. Or her eyeballs would have popped out. That happened on House one time, you know. BUT NEVERMIND THAT. I saw a couple of pics from

[info]church_of_nph and he's wearing this adorable little sweater vest, and have I ever mentioned how much I love sweater-vests and holy CRAP IT WAS SO CUTE.

Last thing. Everyone knows about this, but this is technically a journal, so I'm putting it down anyway. I mentioned before how I had this dream and all I could remember from it was Snape saying, "I would prefer if you would refrain from petting me like a rabbit." So now

[info]lyricalecho  periodically pets my head until I say that. (Probably also because my hair is amazingly soft and so much better than hers ;3) But anyway (with my Freeze Ray~) Echo and Chevy were in health and they learned that an infant or young child should be touched at least 100 times a day because it improves self-esteem. This has led to various members of the Gang incessantly patting/poking each other while chanting "self-esteem, self-esteem, self-esteeeeeeem..." Hint: The effects are not the same if you practically hit the person, whilst screaming in their face, "SELF-ESTEEM, SELF-ESTEEM, SELF-ESTEEEEEEEEEM!!!"

Bruins game tomorrow! *Edgey!whoop!*

Things I Should Do

omg_layton

I don't have time on account of history and english papers, but these are very important things.

- I wanted to watch The Wish, but D came over for dinner and danced around the kitchen with the breadbasket on his head for about six and a half seconds. I will watch it... ASAP. Promise.
- Finish the Royal fic that I stumbled across earlier today.
- Print out part of the Life's Work for [info]hey_lookit because I said I would.
- Watch The Target, pour le Dollhouse.
- Post here that Mr. Quadros is trying to grow a beard, and I can no longer look at him without laughing because it is so ridiculous-looking.

BTW? In the argument between Rook and Luvander (I believe?) regarding the word 'pissant?' It is a word, because Spike used it, and Spike knows everything, including the fact that mini marshmallows are little powdered blobs of healing and sugar (but mostly sugar.)

Castle Malloy and the seventy year-old orphaned bog lady with a jet pack? The end was =DDD with the outtakes especially. "Come on, let me open the box. Please? Please, please, please, pleeeeeeease?"

There was a first season House on, and younger!Wilson is even more adorable, and I think the end was the first time I ever truly 'D'awwwwww'd' at a House episode.

My mum and I just watched a short French film about a monk who tries to catch a fish. I go and comment on how European animation makes me infinitely happy, and how the monk floating away with the fish is representative of finding peace with nature. My brother says, "THAT'S NOT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE, STUPID FRENCH PEOPLE." Well, ma petit frere, ur face iz st00pid.

EDIT: Huh. My mum just pointed out how in love she is with the French language. "It's like flowers!" she says. "When I hear people speak it, it almost makes me want to cry inside. It's like when someone who loves music hears a really beautiful piece of music and they cry..." And then she flipped to the State of the Union quick and said, "OOH, NANCY PELOSIIIIII~ I WANT TO STICK YOUR EYES OUT WITH HOT POKERRRRRRSSSSS..."

On that note, I got to go to bed nao.

So... I really don't have much to post (big surprise! - no, really) but I figured I'd put something down anyway.

I finally listened to the rest of that Snapcast episode. They had a fic reading, actually, so when I woke up at five in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep, I figured I'd lay in bed and listen to it. So I'm sitting there, ten minutes in, in the dark, in bed, at five in the morning, bawling my little eyes out. It was like, Hermione being the clean-up crew for post-Hallows Snape, and it was actually kind of gross how they went into how his neck arteries were hanging out and everything, but... It was insanely heartbreaking, being inside Hermy's head at that point, and her thinking about what a sucky life he had and not being loved ever, and then they were talking about it afterward about the funky ending with the patronuses and how Snape's patronus came out as a hawk when they were closing the tomb because it probably was meant to be what it was before it was a doe like Lily and all, but then the doe showed up and he followed her into the Forest, and it was like she had forgiven him and come back to lead him home and I was just like, "BAAAAAAAAAAW!"

... That was a sucky synopsis, but that's ok. *sniffle*

It terms of other things that don't make my inner fangirl want to roll up in a ball and die, D's been sick and everything, so I sent him a copy of the Giley!fic, along with a lovely rundown of the Buffy knowledge he needed. It went something like:

"Giles: Think Remus Lupin (werewolf, Harry Potter, you know?) Think glasses. Think British. Think Obi-Wan, Gandalf or Dumbledore undercover as a librarian. Think... Tweed."

Unfortunately, however, the attatchment wouldn't go, so he ended up calling me and I read it to him over the phone. I think it made him feel alot better. If he visits today, then I might read him the first part of the Snilly fic. (This all reminds me that I need to do my ff.net thing- argh, I have to get around to that.)

Im just throwing this out, now that I'm on a bit more of a Furuba kick and I picked up this new icon and all, but I'm sort of starting to realize that I really identify with Tohru. I mean, I know she seems cute and innocent and all, but she's got some serious inner demons. That, and she tries to make everyone around her happy and feel better and all. In fact... I think she might be one of my favorite female characters... In general. I mean, more than Hermione for sure, and more that Willow I think, and maybe more than Kaylee? That's questionable. But yeah.

Hey, you know that new Kelly Clarkson song, My Life Would Suck Without You? I can't help but think of how perfect this is for my Life's Work- by which I mean the lyrics work and not so much the peppy tune (SNAPE DOES NOT APPROVE.) But really, it does work ridiculously well.

Being with you
Is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn't miss you,
But I can't let you go

or my favorite, and the most perfect few lines ever:

I know that I've got issues
But you're pretty messed up too
Either way, I found out
I'm nothing without you

Hee. <3

I also went shopping with my mum yesterday, and my God I was in a good mood. Even my mum, the maternal-like Mrs. Weasly was like, "Uh... Are you okay? You're so... Cheery." Maybe it's 'cause I got to rest my brain a little bit when I was sick. But I was in such a good mood that I ended up telling her that I danced with Tyler at the semi. I had just talked about it with Echo (just before Inkheart, actually, so that's why it was so weird seeing him there) and I thought I was going to keep it to myself. But I was just feeling so fuzzy that I kept literally opening my mouth to say it, and it wouldn't come out. So I'd be quiet again. And finally my mum just sort of popped out with, "Oh, hey, how's Tyler?" And I was just like, "OK YEAH ABOUT THAT- EEEE!?" And she thought it was cute, and tried to convince me that he didn't ask simply because Paige told him to. Because he would totally do that. He went out with Allison in junior high just because he heard she liked him and he felt bad. So I dunno. I'll see Paige on the bus at one point or another and maybe we can girl talk more? =3 She's good at that.

Hockey game today- I'm not sure if Timmy will be playing, though. I'm sure, as always, that Erica would be tremendously happy if he did. BRUUUUUUIIIINS YEAH!

EDIT: OKAY I FORGOT- Echo, I have a super-duper stupendous surprise for you on Monday, or much else I'll post it on here somehow and *bursts into giggles*
firefly

I'm skipping the intro, and going straight to the biggest fangiggle I've had in months. About five minutes ago, I found out who was cast as the caterpillar in the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland. Ready?

ALAN FRICKING RICKMAN. AS THE GORRAM CATERPILLAR. THINK ABOUT THAT FOR FIVE SECONDS. OMFGASDFGHJKL; TIM BURTON STOP BEING SO AMAZING ARGH AASDFGHJKLJHGFDSDFGHJKLKJHGFDFGH~

*sigh* Ok. So, Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter, this I knew. Helena Bonham Carter is the Red Queen; I would only assume she was in it. And then you know who is the White Queen is? Anne Hathaway. That was sort of a surprise; I'm glad, though. I like her alot, and she hasn't been in anything that great recently. SO. I just wondered... Is Alan maybe becoming a part of the Tim Burton crowd? OOOOOOOH THAT WOULD BE SO GREAT~

BUGMAN!ALAN ON CRACK!

So. *giggle* Ok, I'm good now. Anyway, while I'm on the topic of Tim Burton, I finally saw Sweeny Todd. At Kenny's house, actually, at the end of Christmas vacation. Surprisingly, I didn't geek out as much as I thought I would: only during Alan's two singing bits. I mean, I didn't dislike it by any means. I guess Alan was just so evil, and creepy rather than snarky. Come on, he was creepy, and totally sketchy/stalker-like/child-molester. BUT I did love By the Sea; I couldn't help but think of the [info]buttfacemakani pic with Bella and Voldie... Also, we told Erica that NPH played Toby once, and so she kept screaming that he was going to die, and freaking out every time he showed up, and we were just like, "THAT'S NOT NPH, DEARIE." Also, Borat makes me laugh. Now back to the Misadventures of Sev and Wally!

Newsflash! Snape wants to be the pope!

Really. But anyway, my mum has since finished it. I did read this one little part where Waleran came up with this battle plan, and William was all, "YEAH, LET'S GO SLAUGHTER SOME PEOPLE!" and Wally was just like, "Erm... You can... You know... Go without me. Please." Oh, also? I did find a bit that mentioned how he hardly eats anything. And I'm like, 'Heh. I knew that was totally in-character.' But he really was evil, whereas Sev is not, so you know.  He ended up having something to do with this plot that killed some guy, and something about dethroning the king, and apparently it was really easy to guess what it was.

You know what kind of drove me nuts, though? The way this guy writes dialogue is weird. It's like it goes, "Waleran said: 'Wow, why am I a snarky, evil bishop and not a snarky, not-really-evil professor?'" It's really funky with the colon and all.

I've since added a cut for all the other stuff, since it was too long and annoying. Still, there are Hellboy spoilers. )

I've been singing Sound of Music, like, a ton. Do you think we could give Snape a guitar and make him sing Eidelweiss? We already know from Sweeny that he can sing... (XDDDDDDDDD SORRY: THIS IS HOW I THINK~)

I've added House and Dr. Chase to my List, because, you know, they're cool. They aren't very high up, but still.

You know you're turning into Echo's little sister when people from the Constitutional Convention are showing up on your List. I was studying for my history midterm, and I found this blurb about James Madison. Basically, he was like a little shoebox!Remus. You know, he was always reading, and he was sort of quiet and cute and good at being the research-guy and... Well, Remus-y. I can just see it: "Um... Mr. Washington, sir? I was reading last night, and I found this really interesting chapter about Ancient Rome, and it gave me a good idea, but it might not be so good, I'm not sure-" And Ben Franklin all, "Out with it, boy!" "Right! Yes, so I was thinking..." Hee. <3

On the same page, I was still studying in art, and I was talking about this one thing with my friend Emily. Basically, during the war between France and Britain, this guy called Citizen Genet was stirring up the Americans to join the French. And Washington was all, "Hey, we're not getting involved here." So Genet set up this whole meeting and basically dumped on Washington. Emily said, "So he said to Washington, 'So go away, or we shall be forced to taunt you a second time!'"

Of course, Mr. Hanchett noted that Genet was then "forcibly removed from the country" which Ellie translated to "drop-kicked across the pond."

I want to point something out here. Trauma Center? Back when we were playing it at the Fantastic Five sleepover, we looked up some sprites and were horrified to see the similarities between our/my favorite Kassal brother and a certain lavender-suited defense attorney...

That is frightening.

I'll be back later with some updates on the Snapecast episode that I've only just started listening to, and also the dress picture. Hopefully I won't keep waiting so long to do these posts, so I can make them shorter and more manageable!

I've since added a cut for all the other stuff, since it was too long and annoying. Still, there are Hellboy spoilers. )

New Year's Misc.

  • Jan. 6th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
neil_hugs

Ok. First post of the new year! Also, there is a Snow Day! Whooo!!!1! So, you know, I can actually finish this after [not] working on this for two days. Lots of things to say! Or... Remarkably less than I thought.

Buffy Spoilers Here~ )

So what else? We had a Fantastic Four sleepover (by which I mean me, Echo, and our two friends from days of yore.) Stayed up 'till five, but I passed out at four. There was some Trace Memory-age, too (along with some Bill jokes.)

Which brings me to this: Mystery/adventure games for the DS are highly underrated. The DS has spawned some of my favorite games. Phoenix Wright, of course, and the ever-lovely-and-thrilling-and-cute-and-plot-twist-y Trace Memory. Hotel Dusk: Room 213 was like some wonderful film noir (though I think Echo still has my copy?) and then, dear Professor Layton, of course. I do love my DS.

Speaking of PL, I saw the Final Time Journey trailer and WHOA LAYTON IN A SWORDFIGHT WHY SO AWESOME? And Luke jumping on the couch, and Layton and his tea and WHEN DOES THE SECOND ONE COME OUT, GORRAMIT? In other PL news, there's supposed to be a PL movie in the works. It sounds fabulous, and then I hear it's live action. Why would you want live action when you have such beautiful European-like artwork to work with? *sigh* At least they can make Layton hot... *no one said that*

Also, I forgot to mention another DS game. Trauma Center, anyone? [info]zarla should be so pleased with herself, what with having her Broken Glass Mix being sung by Echo and I over and over. (It can be found here, BTW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBlukUptk18) "And there's no reason why, when you cut people open, they're all funky colors, all inside, all color-coded, OH YEAH!

Also interesting is how (we were playing UtK2) the big bad guys is like a little von Karma, what with the "von," and his rant about "natural selection" and "the perfect human" and being the crappiest father ever. And the organization? Apparently we could have another one: B.U.M.M.E.R. (Was this funnier at three o'clock in the morning?) Yeah, it was. Although, when you have to use your tools to get out of the cell? Kaylee, I think it was, was all, "Hey, why don't we just use the laser to blast out of here?" And Echo stops and thinks, and says, "Well it's more of a delicate laser." "Yeah," I say, "because you wouldn't be blasting people's organs with massive lasers." Kristen nods and says, "Yeah. So it's more of and 'ow' laser." To which we then pictured Chase, all "HEY DEREK" *zap* "CHASE, CUT THAT OUT!" *bzzt*

Then there was some joke about Erika's friend accidentally snorting bath soap up her nose...

Hey, here's something. iTunes is a moron. I'm not talking about this pricing thing; I mean the updated software. It's obviously geared toward people who buy entire albums, rather than those who just buy a song here or there. I'm one of the latter. So, where as before I could have all my songs in alphabetical order, now it can only be organized by album or artist, so that my Library looks like someone ate it, didn't like the weird mix of flavors, and then barfed it back onto my screen. It bums me out.

I had this dream last night, and I swear- God strike me down if I'm lying- Snape was on a unicorn. Swear to God. I just remember... He was kinda like, "Eh?" And I was kinda like, "Eh!?" But yeah, I also had a dream where the Tiny Titans were crewing Serenity, and I guess the Alliance caught us, and everyone was all hiding and fighting, and there was some Salem museum thing going on, and I was all, "hey, I know where that is!" even though I was in the mindset of my main OC, and there was some secret attic with a secret trunk, and there were disguises and secret passageways; and then there was the museum and Giles was there and there was lots of beige marble and dinosaurs? And then I went back to sleep and there was this dream with SSBros. but there were loads of playable characters, and I was kinda inside, and Raven was there, and then there were some aliens and they were making a movie? But then they made me play this game that was kinda like Tetris but with fruit? And I was ok at it, but then Snape showed up and was better, and that was the unicorn part, and there was something about this desktop background I'm working on and I was all, "Oh, that looks good!" And then... Um... I think I woke up again.

OH. Maybe the museum thing was in the dream I had night before last. 'Cause that one also had Snape briefly, but it was mainly Star Trek TNG characters, but they were cowboys, and someone was chasing me, and I was all, "HALP, I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!" And they were all, "Hey, how do you know us!" And then there was something about a wagon and going over jumps and it was nighttime and there were torches, and...

Ironically, I've done virtually no fandoming for a few days prior to these.

Ok, so New Year's Days I watched two movies. First, I watched Stardust with my mum, which I never realized was so long! It's like, almost three hours! But that really is a wonderful movie, with Arthur!Goat and stuff. He was my Mum's favorite character I guess, which was funny; but she liked Shakespeare too, all, "I was thinking, 'waxing poet!' and my men are thinking 'SHAKE! SPEAR!' I love things like that." Also she liked the ghosts, but how can you not? Eee, and I don't think I need to reiterate how much I like Septimus.

Later, we ended up watching Wall E. God, I love this movie. Out of all the Pixar films, it's really between this one and Finding Nemo, even if I really do like Toy Story (which, BTW, Echo pointed out that Joss did the screenplay! =DDDDDDD) But yeah, it was just soooo cute, and... Very artfully done. Of course, no matter how deep and artsy, it's still Disney. So my mum points out, "But, if they can't even get out of their chairs, why did I see a bunch a babies sitting around?" "Because it's Disney, mum. The stork brought them." But anyway, I just love Wall E and all his little treasures, and Eve being all "Uuuuh?" and then Wall E being all dorky in space, and Mo. How can you not love Mo?

So... I think that's it. I'll have a post in a couple of days for a certain event... :3

EDIT: Hey, I was on [info]professorlayton</lj> and found this amazing lot of PL art. WHY IS THIS FANDOM SO CUTE!? http://community.livejournal.com/professorlayton/116419.html

A Quick Weekend Glaze

POKEMANZ

So much time, so little to tell. Wait. No. Scratch that, put it in reverse.

Ok, so... Going back to Friday. Mr. Mintz was talking about schizophrenia and how some people babble nonsense, which is called word salad. He says, "It's as if you take all the words of the english language and turn them into bits of lettuce and tomatoes and cucumbers, and..." "And those funky little onions!" "YES!" he says to me. "AND THOSE FUNKY LITTLE ONIONS!"

Um... I had this dream night before last that was kind of a Buffy thing, and I swear Giles was in it, and I'm almost certain Snape was there too. But they were hanging out with Howl, and maybe I was Buffy? But anyway, Howl called me on my cell phone to warn me about demons or whatever, and he was speaking in a French accent. And I was like, "Hey, aren't you British?" And he was like, "Um?" Before which he went off on a whole rant about why he was obviously Frnch, and didn't I pay any attention at all? But then Snape's first cat from my Snape!fic was there, except he was turned into a t-shirt... And someone was wearing him? But it was still Snape's cat... But then last night I had a Buffy-like dream too, but I don't remember much about that. Oddly, I hadn't watched the show for a while before any of that...

So. The Christmas party. I won't even go into the history of the annual Christmas party that my dad's side of the family has. But, in essence, I'm usually pretty dependent on the presence of my Aunt Cheryl, who writes self-help books and has been on Good Morning America and Oprah, and God knows what else. So she did indeed come, and she brough another lovely author-friend from California, who has done basically the same. Dude. They. Saved. My life. I would have died in the hor d'oeurves if they hadn't been there.

So Cheryl and Debbie (Debbie Ford, the author friend) were talking to me and they decided that I should write a book about what parents should and shouldn't do during a divorce, basically because my parents went through a bloodbath. 'Cause you know that nine year old boy who wrote a book about women? People dig young authors, apparently, so yeah. Thanks for giving me this two weeks after NaNoWriMo. I dunno what I'll do with it now. (Oh, and also? Debbie has a son one year younger than me, and he loves ComicCon too. =DDDDDD)

What else, what else... OH FRUITS BASKET~

FURUBA SPOILERS LIKE WHOA )

*sigh* Ok, so what else? I did some lovely drawings this weekend, and I might post one or two once I ink them. They're all Snape!fic, of course, all with Meloric, simply because I was in that cute-yet-melancholic-Furuba-induced-mood. She's very much like that, now that I think about it, sort of like my postwar!Snape. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I guess. (Which makes sense, because she really does love her daddy very much.) *D'awwwwww~* <3333333333333333333333333

Oh, here we go: a wet fish slap back to reality. Turns out my cold hands and poor circulation mean I have Reynaud's disease. I'd assume[info]lyricalecho has it too, judging how she turns purple and stuff. But anyway, we won't die or anything. Oddly enough, I did some research and do you know what sometimes causes Reynaud's? (Or is the effect of, if I read it wrong, which would be bad.) But anyway, do you know what I'm talking about? Lupus. Lupus. Dr. House is now coming to impale my head on his cane.

Snaaaape~!
Reasons Be Buffy Spoilers~ )

Ok. So. This is a new development, and by new development I mean a new character who makes my inner fangirl do spastic cartwheels of glee (only the inner fangirl, though, because the outer one would probably break its neck.) Therefore, I ought to publicize The List, and by publicize I mean show [info]stella_muse</lj> and possible Erika. (Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be adding the pictures, but let it be known that I do have them.) (Oh, and also, most are fictional, but there are a few actors. (Oh, and BTW? I got Elise to read Havemercy. YAY! She likes Balfour too, but I haven't gotten all the feedback because we had a History test today. And now Erika is reading it. Cripes, we'll have the whole group read it! =DDDDDDDDDD But also, I'm getting my own copy for Christmas, because, you know, I can't keep passing aroung Echo's... Heh...)

I Was Daring Today

  • Dec. 8th, 2008 at 4:34 PM
Halloween!Giles

I stayed home from school, even though I wasn't sick.

...

Ok, so I wasn't so daring. I did homework most of the day. But enough of this.

MY FANDOM HAD BEEN TURNED UPSIDE DOWN.

Mostly, at least.

There's no place I would be, since I found Serenity... [MAJOR SPOILERS AAAAAAUGH DON'T LOOK ERIKA THAT MEANS YOU] )

Now. Buffy. Wow. I say this because, although the show does catch my interest and I do like it... GILES GILES GILES GILES OMGGGGGG... He... He, like, is what the core of the List is. He's a somewhat magical, snarky, British professor. You'll find I have many British professors: Snape, Giles, Remus, Layton... And, well, if they aren't professors, they're lawyers or doctors, BUT ANYWAY~ He's just sooooo cute. With Remus' 'awww' factor, and Sev's snark (though it's usually lovingly meant,) and Layton's tendency to be on top of things, and Hatori's cynicism, and Miles' caring coolness, and Abe's awkwardness, and dude, do I have a point here? Oh, and he has a crappy car like Gumshoe. *I sense a usurpation in the List...* So cuuuuuuuuuute.... I mean, he even makes just eating an apple look cute. All, "Munch, munch, munch." (May I point out? Giles training Buffy in the library with the sparring pads = Remus training Harry with the Patronus. JUST SAYING.) So cute, so cute, so cute... He's shot up to #6, to be specific.

SO WHAT ELSE...

Oh. And among all of this, I'm on a bit of a House kick, which I've decidedly added to my list of fandoms. (Thank you, mum.) Dr. Wilson is still so on my List, and Echo's sister would be madly in love with Dr. Chase. SPEAKING OF WHICH... I watched the bloopers for Season 2 while I was at it, and MY GOD, after four times already I can't stop laughing. My favorite is how House calls Dr. Chase an "Antipodean fleck of bum fluff!"

Antipodean fleck of bum fluff.
