I Don't Know Why This Icon Amuses Me So~

SLAAAADE

Oooh, goodness. I've been putting this off for forever. I'll put down the stuff that I've already said outloud, but wish to stick in here for future reference.

For example, Nutella is my new favorite food. It's like spreadable hazelnut chocolate in a jar.

Also, Portal is AWESOME. I'm only at Room 16, so I'm not quite done yet. Though, I might chance to ask how it is that[info]lyricalecho knows GLaDOS' lines better than I do, and yet her copy of the game lies on the floor of the bedroom with the plastic wrap still on it.

"If you become lightheaded from thirst, feel free to pass out."

DOLLHOOOOOOOOUSE SPOILERS~ )

Also Buffy, whee! Ms. Walsh is either going to be helpful, bad, or dead- and I don't know which one yet. Xander is awesome and deep with his whole Dark Side speech, and Willow's hair is =DDDDDD I'll hopfeully watch the rest of the disc this weekend.

Well, today I saw Eli!Snape again. I guess he usually wears contacts or something, because today he was wearing these great glasses that were a little Mark a la Rent. You know, the rectangular ones with the thick black frames? Yeah. It made me smile inside.

Is it bad that I find this ---->  www.hulu.com/watch/40438/sesame-street-soliloquy-on-b#s-p11-st-i1 "excruciatingly humorous?"

Seaking of Patrick Stewart, I had this dream night before last, where I was driving somewhere and there were all these guys dressed up as Professor X and Magneto, and I was like, "What's with this?" and someone was like, "Duh- The Wolverine movie came out!" Which I find funny, because I don't think either are going to be in it.

Soon after that, the dream shifted suddenly to where I was River, and I was in some desert army base, and a nuclear bomb went off (guess where that came from) and I figured out that that's why I/River was crazy. In layman's terms, speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out River is insane because of a giant nuclear explosion.

I mentioned to Echo that I wanted to get a treadmill for my birthday, because I want to be in better shape and maybe join track next year. She proceeded to shun me.

Speaking of birthdays... I KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING EEEEECHOOOOOOO~

I keep playing Penny's Song over and over again, and I keep singing it when the house is empty, 'cause I'm going to do it for this audition next weekend. (Music Review. Beatles. Indie-Rock. Be there. PEACE.) Also, I'm posting it so that I won't chicken out and blow it off.

Kelsey is NOT DEAD YEEEEEET~

HBP: Happy Birthday Prince!

Snaaaape~!

And there you have it- from Jo herself, whether she likes him or not. To be honest, I really do look forward to January 9th. It's just like... It's like Fandom Day, almost, if there was such a thing (maybe we should plan one?) So, basically, this is a completely Snape-centric post to celebrate- because I sort of do. (I'M HOPELESS, ECHO SAYS, JUST HOPELESS.)

First off, I'd like to point out that if we're going by release dates of the books, Snape is turning the big 'four-oh!' I can only imagine his complete and utter distaste at being considered on top of the hill in 'over the hill.' *sigh* Grey hairs abound, I'd think, and that enough is cause for some grumpiness. Of course, if we're going by actual canon years and such he would be... 49! Ugh. Almost to the big five-oh. And if 40 was putting him in a bad mood, I could only imagine 50 would make him spend the whole day locked in his room with a bottle of scotch... (Of course, my lovely fanfic!Snape is quite content even at 60, but that's a little different, I think.)

Of course, I would assume Snape does not like birthdays at all, no matter what age he's turning. (He probably thinks it's depressing.) In fact, I rather think that no one even knows when his birthday is (not even Albus! Because, you know, he'd probably tell everyone if he were ever particularly pissed off with Snape's... Snape-y-ness. Or just to annoy him.) But even still, he might actually give himself a break for once. I think he'd treat himself to a quiet evening with a book, without having any homework or tests to correct or anything. And maybe a bottle of wine (I've decided Pinot Noir is his favorite) and something special for his cat (who has become unnecessarily canonical in my head.)

Which, as if the guy needed anything else, his birthday is rather close to Christmas. Wow Jo hates him.

Now, Snape in other things... I'll start small. As another Trauma Center nod, there is a character who is particularly Snape-ish. Victor Niguel, actually. His sprite goes from "grrr" to "ARGH," and he does have the haircut and everything. (He wears the normal doctor scrubs, though, so no black, really.) But he's the brains of the group, and everyone's always talking about how he never sleeps since he's always working and researching and stuff. Wikipedia says: "He focuses mainly on his work and its uses. He is considered a recluse, and can't stand the thought of 'idiots' being near him." Dunderheads, more like (even if Snape swears decidedly less than Victor.)

Here's something that sort of caught me by surprise. My mum is reading this book called The Pillars of the Earth, and I guess it's about building a church, or something like that in the general medieval times. I know this off the bat, since she asked me if she should read this one or another one about women in China and silk and eh. But anyway, she's reading (wondering why it's a bestseller when it really isn't that well written) and she's about a hundred pages in and she goes, "Hey! Snape's in this book!" And I'm like, "WHAT WHERE?"

“Their seats were scattered randomly, but they all looked at and spoke to a priest who sat in the middle of the group like a spider at the center of a web. He was a thin man, and the way his long legs were splayed apart and his long arms draped over the arms of the chair made him look as if he were about to spring. He had lank, jet-black hair and a pale face with a sharp nose, and his black clothes made him at once handsome and menacing.”

Ok, so maybe Snape is noticeably short, and I would never kid myself into thinking he's handsome, but it was enough to get me interested. (Also, he'd scoff at the thought of being a priest- or bishop in this case. I'd think he'd have sort of a Mal thing going on, all 'I'll deal with your religion stuff; just don't do it anywhere near me. 'Cause, you know, what's God ever done for me?' Amirite?) But he's got the look, and the black thing going on- and for God's sake, they even have the spider analogy. And later on? He does that thing where he doesn't say anything the whole conversation, just observes, and then he puts his snarky two cents in and that just puts a firecracker in the cauldron, you know... And then he does the other, Makani!Snape thing where he does that putting-his-hand-up-gesture whenever he says something like,"WELL OBVIOUSLY, YOU DUMBASS."

So, every once in a while my mum comes out with a new blurb of "Bishop Snape" and reads it to me. (And this guy's name? Waleran Bigod. I am not kidding. And Snape thought he had an unfortunate name? Although... 'Waleran' is sort of interesting...)

“…Beside him was Bishop Waleran, dressed in black as always, his dismay not quite concealed by his habitual look of frozen distain.”

“A mocking smile played around Waleran’s bloodless lips.”

“'The only thing you need to know about Waleran Bigod,' she had said, 'is that everything he does is carefully calculated. Nothing spontaneous, nothing careless, nothing casual, nothing superfluous.'”

And he's sort of a bad guy, like, he's not very nice to the main character, but he's not evil per se. Or even, he's not the Big Bad Guy. And heck, they've even described him as "oily" already. Come on. And also, he walked in on William (the Big Bad) and his DE pals cronies- particularly Bella his particular favorite one that I don't know the name of- trying to stone a cat just for kicks. And Snape Waleran walks in and (he sort of pulls a shoebox!Snape and freaks out when it lunges for his ankles) but he does end up having a soft spot for cats and lets the thing out. Even though in my timeline, Snape doesn't have a cat either of the times he's with the DE (he got it after the First Rising but it died before the Second) I can totally see him walking in on Voldie and the peeps and being all, "DDDDD= That could have been my cat!" And the DE all, "...You have a cat?" And Snape stops and kind of does a second D= face. "Ah... Evil people can have cats too, you know. They can. Really, I swear."

And then there's another part where some characters are going to see Bishop Snape and there's this big castle that's only half-built and William's just like, "Uh... He sort of ran out of money." Which then makes me think of Snape being all Gumshoe-y on a teacher's salary, what with spending most of it on potions equipment and such. *chuckle* He's just sitting at Spinner's End with no electricity, his cat follows him to the fridge (magically powered, even if it's a little draining) and he looks in: "So. We have week-old chicken, and week-old chicken." "Meow?" "Week-old chicken it is. We'll split it." Or maybe even he has to buy the cheap cat food, and the poor thing is just like, "What is this crap?" I just hope Snape would go to the store before the cat food started smelling pretty good... STOP RIGHT THERE, I'LL GO NO FURTHER WITH THIS TRAIN OF THOUGHT. XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD <3

So yeah. There was also a small bit about some strange woman there was an issue with, (he saw her and was all '=OOOOOOOOOO') but if her name is Lily, and he has/had a thing for her, then I'll definitely update on that. Also, if he's bitten by a giant snake. Or if he dies at all. Or anything, really. I'm sure we'll continue the adventures of Sev and Wally.

So... Lastly. I have a bit of previously-mentioned Snape background action going on here. (Basically I did it over vacation when I was snowed in and bored.) It's just simple screencap from OoTP, but covered in lyrics from my Snape Playlist (so what if I have one?) But it was actually sort of difficult... But there's even a little blank strip at the bottom for the toolbar!

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/Hiddensuicune/squee2lyricssave7.jpg

Echo looked at an earlier version of it, and said simply, "OW MY FEELINGS." Which, yeah, it's emo. But it's Snape, how can it not be emo? But... It's just sort of odd just how much Sarah McLachlan is on there... It not my fault her lyrics are so Snape-y and emo! They just are!

Alright! So that just about wraps that up for now. I was so excited yesterday/today about this, and I mentioned a "certain event" to both[info]stella_muse and[info]lyricalecho I was driving Stella nuts, so I promised I would write it the night before and post it before I went to school (which, I can't really sleep so I'm posting it this late/early.) She has nooooo idea. As in, "Hey, do you know what tomorrow is? January ninth?" "Uh, Friday?" Echo, on the other hand, seems to have had her 'aha' moment already, and IM'd me in a most piteous and exasperated flurry. I'm not hopeless! We'll do something just as special for Remus' birthday! (Maybe even nicer, considering he'd actually appreciate it and not slam the door in our faces. March 10th, guys! Which is two days before my main OC's birthday...) What? Why not celebrate fictional characters' birthdays!? January, February, March... These are boring months! We have to keep ourselves entertained! (Even if Snape bluntly disagrees with this.) In fact, you know what Snape probably hates? Sparkly things. Sparkly things happen to entertain me. Therefore, since I can't resist, I'll finish...
