So Cascade was FUCKING AMAZING. I sort of want to cosplay God-Tier Jade, but I'm sure that will be one of those things where everyone else will too, you know? Well anyway.

So I was peeling an orange yesterday and I thought of something. So PM is going to bring WV back, right? And WV is technically a black pawn, right? And isn't there a rule in chess about when a pawn reaches the other side of the board? Now, I'm not sure how that would work exactly, but what if WV got all huge and super-powered and I dunno, became the Black King or something? I know a pawn becomes a Queen when it gets to the other side, but ehhhhhh... Anyway.

I've been having these crazy ass dreams, but night before last it was like a mix of Doctor Who and Homestuck? And at the end of it we had this fridge that was doing weird things and I said something along the lines of "It looks like a refrigerator; of course it's a TARDIS!" And then the Doctor did something a little douchey and (because it was Matt Smith) I was like "See, David Tennant's Doctor wouldn't have done that. He was so much better." And then my mum was there suddenly and she was like, "No way. See, you don't even understand what's going on here." And I was like, "What are you talking about!?" And she was like, "Don't you know? He's gay." And I was like, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" And then I woke up. XDDD 

My mum sent me a care package today, with enough cookies to share, earrings in Harry Potter wrapping paper, and a holiday card IN JAPANESE. She is a very cool mum. :D <3

Of the trolls, I'm going to say that Feferi is my favorite. I know she doesn't do much, but she's just so adorable and I just love her to pieces (or should I say, Pisces? lol glub glub :D). I didn't think I liked Vriska at all, but then after that scrapbook sequence with her and John, I like her a lot more. And Terezi, of course, is the bomb. KAYLEE MARTIN YOU ARE A BADASS TROLL. Kanaya is also very cool and I like her a lot. I'm a little less taken with the guys, aside from Karkat, obviously, who is neat. I wish Eridan hadn't been such a jerkwad, and I can hardly ever read what the hell Sollux is saying. Gamzee scares the FUCK out of me. Equius is eh. Who am I missing? I don't really have an opinion Aradia, and Tavros is just kind of sad, and Nepeta is cute.

And as for the kids, I mean, I think it would be hard to dislike any of them. Rose is really badass, and so is Dave, and Jade is really adorable and John of course is such a sweetheart. I couldn't pick a favorite.

I think once we get to see more of the trolls post-murder rampage I'll feel this a lot more, but I haven't been getting the SADSTUCK that other people have. Maybe it's because I assume (with the kids at least) that they're just going to come back when they get killed, and they do. But the Vriska/John thing is definitely DDD:

So far, the only part I'm not understanding is what the hell happened when Aradia was jumping all over the place and Doc Scratch's scrapbook was there and ummm I cannot tell you any more than that. Well, and also getting the Midnight Crew characters straight and I'm still not 100% sure how the two universes overlap? I sort of assume there are just parallel versions of them, but anyway.

I love the exiles, especially the Mail Lady. She's adorable. :3

I'm not going to lie, though. This thing takes FOREVER to get into. I thought Marisa was joking when she said it didn't get good until like 2000 pages in. Geez, Homestuck. BUT IN THE END, MOSTLY WORTH IT. I mean, I'm not going to lie, I'm not as obsessed as some people are with it, but I can say that I am very, very interested and I really enjoy it.

But yeah, so I've also been going through Doctor Who whenever I can~ I wasn't a fan of the Season 3 finale; it just was a bit much, even though I liked The Master. But now Donna is here and I LOVE Donna. But then ghost!Rose(?) showed up in the Adipose episode and I was like like ASDFGHJKL;ASDFGHJKL;ASDFGHJKL;

I also watched the first episode with Matt Smith, because I wanted to see his fishsticks and custard scene. "EVIL BEANS! Bad, bad beans." I like Matt Smith, a lot, but he is still not David Tennant. DTen will always be my smoldering woobie Doctor and nothing will change that. Even though I was a little in love with MSmith in the Doctor Who Proms program.

In other other news, I started Dragon Soul, which is a fabulous escape that will likely be utilized for the entirety of the weekend. That is totally okay with me, what with all their female characters and whatnot. Malahide seems awesome. :) Isn't Steelhands already out?

Monster!professor didn't dump on my paper that much. She said my thesis was wrong, but I went to talk to her and she helped me out with that  and she said that actually my writing is very good. So that was really nice.

Have to write a paper about how the Cold War killed liberalism in the 60s. Most of my points are like, the Vietnam War made these people angry, so they didn't like liberals anymore. The war made these people mad too, so they didn't like liberals either. There wasn't enough money for all of this shit. Also there were hippies.

I reeeeeally want to start H+. But, seeing as I can't, I'm going to try something different this weekend. Since the story is in the first person, I should probably try to find the voice of the main character (who is named Bert, btw). So, wouldn't it be an interesting exercise to try and write something where Bert is literally showing me around that world and telling me how he thinks and where he came from and all of that? I think that would be interesting. (Bert is, of course, short for Bertalan, which is a fucking fabulous name.)

I guess I'll go get my laundry.

So the week in a nutshell.
 
Last Friday I went to anime club with Alec and watched Cowboy Bebop. GUYS IT IS JUST LIKE FIREFLY. Well if Firefly was an anime... and not done by Joss... and didn't have Nathan... or Summer... or um well anyway. Jet is a decent Mal, notgonnalie.
 
Anyway, long story short, the Noir peeps decided to pre-game the Falstaff party, by which I mean Alec drank a whole mug of vodka like I told him not to and guess who got to drag him all the way back up the hill to Wilmarth? Me. Because I am, to quote Kate, “hilariously sober”. In my defense, I actually tried to get “crazy drunk” this Friday and IT DIDN’T WORK. I ONLY GOT MORE ARTICULATE AND RATIONAL. WHAT.
 
So both this Saturday and last Saturday we went out for sushi Thai, which is delicious. Except last Saturday we went to Price Chopper afterward. Not the Ghetto Chopper- that's on the edge of town- but the legit Price Chopper. Grocery shopping is so much fun with people. XD I spent literally like ten minutes helping Haylee decide what kind of chocolate milk to buy.

So I think I found my 2011 NaNo project. It's called "H+"... Oh my God, I'm really excited about it. Basically it’s based on this dream I had, where there was this detective that was investigating this subway explosion? And it was really gritty and dystopian and everything, and the autopsy lady from SVU was there, and she was like, “I’ve been sorting through kneecaps and elbows all morning, and I can only tell you one thing. All of these people had type H+ blood.”
 
Seems nonsensical, right? Well what if the government developed a new type of blood to boost the performance of soldiers? What if it worked, and the blood started to incorporate itself into the population, and then something went wrong and it created a viral apocalypse? And then it went into remission and people were still left trying to get by and then the government covered up the fact that it was ever their fault? AND THEN this doctor however many generations later discovered that the H+ virus was going to recover but he couldn’t do anything because the government was still trying to hide it and so he had to take it into his own hands and track down and kill everyone with type H+ blood so that they didn’t fucking infect the rest of the population whenever this thing came back? And then this detective has to figure all of this out and then he figures out that holy shit this thing is going to come back like right now and then WHAT IF AT THE END OF THE STORY EVERYONE FUCKING DIED?

Yep. We were talking about “colorblind racism” in history last week, and I referenced Avenue Q’s Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist. Also that Hark A Vagrant comic about the Kennedys. But I think Professor Delton appreciated it. She reminds me of Prof. Trewlaney a little bit. She’s like, “Okay, so you did the reading about LBJ. During his term- wait, did we talk about the assassination of Kennedy? No? Well, Kennedy got shot. Moving on…”

Noir is awesome. It is the best class. We have the coolest people. We all hang out and watch the Maltese Falcon and do whatever the hell we want. We are the classiest, more badass seminar. :)

Maybe Stephenie Meyer is just the greatest troll ever? You know how she always throws Wuthering Heights in there as Bella's favorite book? If Edward is Heathcliff (and he most certainly is), then could Bella be Isabella Linton? Falling in love with what she thinks is a dark hero and then realizing that 'oh fuck this guy is insane'? :DDD

Bought a Batman poster. Scrounged up some more Shikata Akiko tunes. Finished my Wuthering Heights paper! Ate a mess of ice cream. Actually, I've been eating really well (read: really healthy) and I have a ton more energy, which is great. It also helps that I don't have seven hours of school and then UGH LIKE ANOTHER BAZILLION HOURS OF HOMEWORK like now I can actually get stuff done, go to class, go for a walk, get something to eat, and then get more stuff done. It's a much healthier way to be, I think.

Of course aside from homework it's a lot of TUMBLR TUMBLR ALL THE TIME WAIT ROOMMATE STOP LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER

Oh, I had a party on the roof of the Tang museum! It was Kim's birthday so we bought cake and margarita mix. Not actual margaritas, just the flavor mix. It was pretty badass. ALSO DAMMIT THE CANDLES WOULD NOT LIGHT.

Cool thing: Alec has Peace Walker and his PSP with him, so I can play it if I want. idk when I'll have the time, but I probs will. In trade, he's going to play Trace Memory.

I stole a bunch of little plums from d-hall, and have them sitting on my desk. They're so cute and delicious!

Also provided hilarious commentary to the poor souls who hadn't yet watched Nosferatu; God knows they needed it. I finished it yesterday, giving me enough time today to watch Ghost in the Shell. Which was good, but I think it would have been better when it actually came out (1995). You know, when the internet was still new and the whole Creepy A.I. trope hadn't really been done yet. Now it's like, okay, yeah, I get that A.I. invalidates human intellect. I get that it brings into question the meaning of a soul. Of course, that isn't to say that it wasn't a great movie because it was.

In other news I got someone to watch Kara no Kyoukai. Fuck yeah.

You know what else I did? I made a nerdy outfit look really popular. My fitted Jaynestown shirt with khaki short shorts looks all mainstream at first glance/to the uneducated, but it also attracts all the Browncoats I could hope to meet.
